Health Action holds exploratory meetings on chronic non-communicable diseases protocols
HWC Foundation held a series of exploratory meetings with health institutions that include the various governmental and private sectors and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees “UNRWA” to learn about the health protocols they use and how to apply them in the context of the Foundation’s endeavor, in cooperation with the Spanish University of Jaen, to develop modern health protocols for chronic non-chronic diseases Infectious diseases to be applied during and after the joint project between the institution and the university "Project to update the protocols of chronic non-communicable diseases".
During the 18-month project, the training needs of health staff working in health work committees will be studied to hold courses to enhance their capabilities, in addition to holding 25 educational training workshops for community segments including women, children and the elderly in all governorates.
The project will include launching an electronic observatory for chronic diseases in Palestine and updated protocols. At the end of the project, a protocol on violence against women will be completed in cooperation with the health sector.
In the context of reviewing the health protocols in force in Palestine, the Foundation met with the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees “UNRWA” and the Palestinian Medical Relief Society, and reviewed the approved special health protocols that are compatible with the measures to combat Covid 19, with regard to chronic non-communicable diseases, and they were addressed How to deal with patients with chronic diseases in marginalized areas, with people with disabilities and abused women, the mechanisms followed by these bodies and the extent to which they include all segments of society and are in line with the instructions of the World Health Organization. regarding this matter.
For its part, the agency confirmed that it delivers treatments to the homes of patients in marginalized areas for the longest possible period and conducts the necessary examinations for them. With regard to the protocol on violence against women and how to deal with abused women, UNRWA explained that they are presented to a psychosocial counselor affiliated with the Protection Department, and according to the case, treatment is carried out. The agency also discussed a mechanism for monitoring and collecting chronic disease data electronically through the E-Health program, in addition to their future vision regarding with chronic diseases.
