The Maintenance Fund Continues Its Series of Awareness Workshops to Enhance Legal Awareness Across Palestine with Support from Sawasya III Joint Programme

As part of the series of awareness workshops implemented by the Palestinian Maintenance Fund to reach marginalized groups and strengthen legal empowerment for women, the Fund recently organized awareness workshops in 14 Palestinian locations including Yatta, Al-Yamoun, Burqin, Jalazone Camp, Taybeh town, Seilat al-Harithiya village, Rumana village, Qalandia Camp, Masafir Bani Na’im, Hebla Division and neighboring villages, Far’a Camp, Am’ari Camp, Kafr Dan, and Taybeh town.

These workshops were conducted by the Fund’s female lawyers, who highlighted the Fund’s mission and objectives, along with its three main programs: the Economic Empowerment and Poverty Reduction Program, the Protection and Inclusion Program, and the Legal Aid Program. The workshops focused on explaining the mechanisms for disbursing maintenance entitlements, implementing judicial rulings, providing free legal consultations, and empowering women to access their rights amid the various challenges imposed by occupation conditions and social discrimination.

These workshops took place within the framework of support from the Sawasya III Joint Programme: Reinforcing Equal Access to Justice for all Palestinians: the Joint Program to Promote Rule of Law in Palestine, which aims to ensure marginalized groups’ access to justice by supporting national and specialized initiatives.

The workshops witnessed notable interaction from participants who emphasized the importance of continuing these sessions in remote and marginalized areas that are often deprived of basic services, calling for expanding the scope of work to include more local communities to ensure justice reaches all women in Palestinian society.
